Analysis: Edwards had a good year in 2007, and he bested Darrelle Revis in that Browns-Jets game, if you remember. Edwards is one of those frustrating guys, who has all the talent in the world, but seems to either not want to, or not care to play football to his full abilities. Edwards seems more concerned with how he looks, where he parties and what his Q rating is. Still this trade has been talked about for months and months, so where there’s smoke, eventually there’s going to be fire.
Whatever the Jets gave up, it better not be in expectation of what value he could bring to the team, but rather what his current value is. The Browns probably decided to let Edwards go after his incident with a teammate on Sunday, and then with Bron Bron’s entourage later Sunday night / Monday morning.
