Lakers executive Jeanie Buss disagrees with Lakers legend Jerry West, who recently said LeBron James has surpassed Kobe Bryant as the game’s best player.
Buss told The Post yesterday it’s not even close. “I think Jerry wasn’t trying to disparage Kobe,” said Buss, who is owner Jerry Buss‘ daughter and Phil Jackson’s live-in girlfriend. “Kobe is the greatest player to play the game right now. I know that because it seems every single game Kobe is rewriting the record books.
“We’re watching history being made in real time. You hear people say, ‘I wish I would’ve seen Wilt Chamberlain play.’ You don’t have to do that now. We’re getting to watch the greatest player play right now. LeBron is terrific. But I don’t think he can be compared to what Kobe brings to the court.”
