Ravens LB hopeful Tony Fein arrested at Harborplace tonight
Below is a statement from Ravens senior vice president of public and community relations Kevin Byrne regarding Tony Fein:
“Like all citizens, Tony will get his due process and have his opportunity to explain. There are two sides to every story.”
10:09 p.m. — It was all set to be a quiet evening for four Ravens as they sat at the harbor having burgers. But after a Harborplace patron called police about seeing a potential gun, the players were questioned by an officer and during the questioning Ravens LB hopeful Tony Fein allegedly pushed the police officer.
It is believed that second-degree assault charges will be filed this evening against Fein, who enlisted in the Army for 3.5 years and served one-year in 19 Delta recon in Baghdad, Iraq. Fein was also honored with the Pat Tillman Patriot Award by the Military Order of the Purple Heart his senior year at Ole Miss.
It turns out that the Ravens players didn’t have a gun. The item in question turned out to be a cellphone.
So far, the Ravens have had no comment but this incident is very fresh.
The Ravens team hotel is downtown and the players usually get time before their evening meetings to get a meal somewhere nearby. It is not unusual for Ravens players to be out in the early evening a night before a game.
