Twins tickets on sale

The Twins are trying not only to sell out Tuesday's one-game tiebreaker against Detroit, but to get the tickets distributed beforehand to avoid a will-call rush before the game.

The sense of urgency started immediately after Sunday's game when the club opened its Metrodome ticket booths. Metrodome ticket offices will open again at 8 a.m. Monday, and will remain open until the start the Vikings-Packers game at 7:30 p.m. Fans can also purchase tickets by phone (612-33-twins or 1-800-33-twins) or online at twinsbaseball.com.

Fans purchasing tickets can pick them up at will-call Monday through the start of the Vikings-Packers game, and then again after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Those who purchase their tickets online are required to print the tickets out on their home computer.

"Our biggest concern is the compressed timeframe, and the fact we can't mail tickets out to people,'' said Kevin Smith, the team's executive director of public affairs. "We just don't want people showing up at 3 o'clock Tuesday to pick up their tickets.''
