Tennessee free safety Janzen Jackson has been awarded SEC Freshman of the Week honors for his outstanding performance in the 31-13 victory over the South Carolina Gas Pumps. Jackson collected seven tackles, forced a fumble on Carolina’s first possession, and broke up two passes. This coming off of a week were Jackson was ill and missed several practices. Congrats Janzen!
Montario Hardesty’s 123 yards against the Gamecocks raises his season total to 872 yards. As of right now, Hardesty is on pace to finish with 1308 yards in the regular season. Hardesty is a long way from Travis Stephens UT season rushing record of 1464 yards, but with a couple of big games against some questionable defenses anything is possible.
CBS just announced its November 14th SEC lineup. The Tennessee-Ole Miss game will be featured at 12:00 Eastern as a part of a special SEC double header. Florida and South Carolina will square off at 3:30 Eastern.
The Vols host cross state rival Memphis Tigers this Saturday. ESPNU has announced it will carry the game at 7:00 Eastern. The Vols are opening up as 26 point favorites over the Tigers. It is always interesting when Tommy West comes back to Neyland Stadium.
