In a no-holds-barred interview, Anne Heche told David Letterman on Wednesday exactly what she thinks of her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon.
"Can you say 'lazy ass' on TV?" Heche, 40, asked on the Late Show with David Letterman when he inquired about her ex, the father of her 7-year-old son, Homer. She quickly retracted her statement, by saying, "No, no, no. That's terrible."
The feud between Heche and Laffoon still continues – even six months after the two reached a settlement in their divorce, which includes monthly child support payments to Laffoon for their son.
When asked by Letterman what Laffoon does for a living, Heche paused before telling the audience: "He goes out to the mailbox and he opens up the little mailbox door and goes, 'Oh! I got a check from Anne! Oh! I got a check from Anne! Yay!' "
Laffoon, who filed for divorce in February 2007 after five years of marriage, "is doing a lot for himself right now," she added. "I think he wants to coach soccer right about now. It's funny because you can't quite let go of the ex."
The couple were engaged in a heated divorce that stretched out for two years, which included a fight over furniture, a custody battle and accusations from both parties. (Heche said Laffoon craved "porn, poker and money." He fought back and claimed she was mentally unstable.)
"He wants me to come and watch him run around in his little white shorts playing soccer," she told Letterman. "Honestly, I don't want to come to rehearsal and watch you run around in your tight shorts like trying to pretend you know how to play soccer. I divorced you! I don't want to hang around with you Thursdays and Saturdays and maybe on Sunday."
Though Heche can't seem to shake off her ex, she has moved on in her love life. The actress, who costars on HBO's Hung, has found love with former Men in Trees costar James Tupper. The couple had their first child together earlier this year, a baby boy named Atlas Heche Tupper.
