Dora Links Doll Seemingly Revealed

The once-controversial design for a new, more mature Dora the Explorer doll has apparently been revealed beyond concept art. Tennis may be the quietest sport, with long stretches of respectful silence interrupted only by the thwop of balls being hit. But on Saturday the normally decorous United States Tennis Association Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens will be filled with not only those familiar sounds but also some very loud noises: children’s yells and pop-music chords.

The occasion is Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, an annual celebration preceding the United States Open. Dedicated to the youngest fans and players, it begins at 9:30 a.m. with a grounds festival of tennis activities and up-and-coming musical acts, followed at 2 p.m. by a stadium show of professional entertainment and exhibition matches.
