After he threw a great block to spring Trent Richardson on a run, McElroy flexed his muscles at the Florida sideline.Later on the drive, McElroy threw a perfect quick pass to Marquis Maze, who turned it into a 34-yard gain after Janoris Jenkins missed the tackle. The throw was to the proper shoulder so only Maze could make the catch. McElroy later picked up a third-and-five with his feet, somehow tip-toeing down the sideline without going out of bounds before he reached the first-down marker.
Alabama's red-zone troubles struck again and the Tide settled for a 34-yard field goal by Leigh Tiffin. But the way McElroy is playing has to give Alabama a lot of confidence. He has outplayed Tim Tebow so far.
