Kennedy Is Mourned With Tears and Laughter
BOSTON — The extended Kennedy family, accustomed to sharing its private grief with an ever-curious nation, gathered at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum here on Friday evening to celebrate the life and mourn the death of its patriarch, Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy, who died on Tuesday at 77, was remembered as a public servant, a sailor, a statesman, a raconteur and a generous family man. His nephew Joseph P. Kennedy II, a former congressman who is the eldest child of Robert F. Kennedy, recalled the senator’s stepping in as surrogate father to the children of his slain brothers.
Joseph Kennedy said that after his father’s assassination in 1968, “we just needed someone to hang on to, and Teddy was always there to hang on to.”

Broadway.com reports that Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will sing "The Impossible Dream" at the private memorial tonight for the late Sen. Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy at the JFK Library and Museum in Boston.
Also speaking are: Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Senator John F. Kerry, Senator John McCain, Senator Orrin Hatch, Governor Deval L. Patrick, Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II and Caroline Kennedy.
