Billy Bell, a 19-year-old Julliard student from Loxahatchee Groves, FL, has been forced out of the competition on So You Think You Can Dance due to an undisclosed illness, The Palm Beach Post revealed on Monday.No details have been given about Bell’s illness.Brandon Dumlao, a 21-year-old hip-hop dancer from Concord, California, will fill the Top 20 slot left vacant by Billy’s departure. He will join the Top 20 this week during the first two-hour performance show, airing Tuesday night at 8 PM on FOX.
“We are disappointed that Billy cannot continue danci
ng in the competition on the advice of his doctor and wish him a speedy recovery,” SYTYCD executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe said in a statement. “However, we are fortunate that Brandon Dumlao has agreed to return.”“Fox has no further comment,” a rep for the network said this afternoon.
