Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail is yet another expose of the grim world behind bars. It’s about a man who’s living his dream life and due to a series of unfortunate event lands up in Jail faced with all sorts of atrocities. Neil has termed his role as one of his most challenging yet and went through several emotional and physical upheavals during the making of the film. The censors had a tough time with some of the scenes in the movie and even chopped Neil’s highly publicised and controversial nude scene.
However the lovemaking scene between Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse was retained in the movie which at first had given her the jitters. A source close to the actress revealed, “Mugdha was apprehensive at first considering she’sjust two films old and the last thing she wants is a bold image so soon. Her role in Fashion however appreciated did give her the tough girl image which she broke with her sweet and simple performance in All The Best. Then to go on and have a lovemaking scene in Jail again wouldn’t work in her favour. But after much convincing she realised it was vital for the scene in the film and it was tastefully shot as well.”
When StarBoxOffice spoke to Mugdha about the experience she said, “I have full trust in Madhur and he’s done a fantastic job with the film. My scenes with Neil have been shot very aesthetically and the final outcome, I must say looks great.”
