I am very pleased to be back in Long Island (on Long Island). A few more visits and I may come to understand the Long Island Rail Road — but not yet. I am especially prevalidged to be working in such an esteemed school district, one that has distinguished itself for achievement and innovation — and innovation is one of the catch terms of this day in education.
But innovation will not be the focus of today’s presentation. Instead, I am going back to the basics — all the way back to the 3Rs. * Abundant
Each of these three new qualities of information has an impact on on and more of the 3Rs. What does it mean to be a reader, when information is increasingly networked? What becomes of the skills of processing information, when information is increasingly digital? What does it mean to be a communicator, when we are overwhelmed by content? These are the questions we are going to explore today.
